Creative Strategy Development and Marketing
Throughout my childhood, I always wondered why essential commodities are positioned furthest from the register and why checkouts are always surrounded by inexpensive snacks. I was always fascinated by the amount of thought put behind small details. Through psychology, my questions were answered: these are examples of supermarket marketing strategies aimed towards making consumers buy more. From supermarkets to social media platforms, consumers are analyzed sociologically and psychologically everywhere to create effective marketing strategies. This concept led to the development of my interests in understanding the behavioral psychology of consumers. In such a fast growing technological age where everything is becoming more convenient and accessible, there is an increase in dependence between the success of any organization and its ability to comprehend consumer behaviors.Through my pathway, Creative Strategy Development and Marketing, I aim to further my passion in understanding the relationship between organizations and individuals. I look forward to furthering my experience, knowledge, and passion for developing creative strategies to target consumers and promote success in organizations. I believe that marketing, especially in this today’s culture, is extremely powerful and essential for organizations to brand themselves and outreach successfully. However, during this digital age, it has become increasingly more difficult to navigate through all the resources available. Through OS, I plan on taking courses in the realms of psychology, marketing, sociology, and information in order to accomplish the most efficient and creative way to market an organization. I believe that OS, along with a degree in the School of Information, will allow me to develop a unique mindset to analyze relationships between consumers and organization. By diving into macro and micro concepts of organizations and combining psychology, sociology, economics, and information, I’ll be prepared to navigate through the limitless resources available. My goal is to develop a substantial and interdisciplinary understanding of how to enhance an organization’s success through grasping consumer behaviors, and OS is the perfect major for me to truly explore my interests.
