Facilitating Corporate Social Responsibility and Developing Human Capital through Positive Leadership
As corporations shape the modern society we live in, they have an enormous capacity to change the world for the worse - or the better. I believe that corporations have a moral responsibility to improve the communities and environments they are entrenched in. However, sustainable practices are often seen as directly contrary to the profitability of businesses. I aim to correct this misconception by studying the crucial relationship between social responsibility and the success of corporations through the lenses of psychology and business. Social responsibility encompasses internal workings, including positive leadership and human capital. Positive leadership encourages such sustainability through innovative and inclusive dialogue that affirms human potential and creates a positive work culture. By recognizing the needs of individuals, positive leaders and their humanizing effects in corporations encourage investment in human capital for the benefit of both the business and their community as a whole.
