Practicing Multifaceted Problem Solving to Capitalize on Individual Sensemaking in Complex, yet Positive, Organizations
I chose to pursue a liberal arts education in Organizational Studies to practice multifaceted problem-solving. Since people are at the heart of every organization, I hope to incorporate the awareness, knowledge, and skills needed to effectively facilitate a diverse group interaction taking into account different communication styles based on how we individually make sense of the world. Ultimately, I aim to identify organizational problems as well as opportunities for improvement and develop solutions that leverage the strengths of the organization. It is my goal to create cultures within organizations to promote efficient adaptation and holistic development. Additionally, I plan on using my Applied Statistics minor to become proficient in recognizing complex situations and designing strategies to cope as well as incorporating quantitative skills in my communication of information and ideas to both specialized and non-specialized audiences.
