Effectively Making Decisions in Organizations
I am always curious on how people and groups come to certain decisions and what affects them to make these certain choices. To answer these questions, it involves many factors at play. As an economics major, I study the microeconomic aspect of how individuals decide to allocate their resources. In macroeconomic courses, I look at the larger scale of how government and large companies can affect countries and people’s monetary actions. I am excited to couple this type of education with the Organizational Studies major where I will be learning about the human psychology of these decisions as well. I want to take Inside Organizations (ORGSTUDY 305) to further study the psychology of people in organizations. This will allow me to explore my interest in decision-making that is not only monetary, but social as well. A good organization is one that can be analytical, yet also connect with people to understand their choices. I hope to contribute to a culture that effectively does both.
