PATHWAY
The Intersection of Journalism and Fashion
While acquiring news is a vital part of daily life to ensure that society is updated on current events, the journalism field is one that is constantly evolving. As social media and technology become engrained deeper into our lives each day, consumer reliance on the media is notably shifting as the demand for printed newspapers has simultaneously decreased. The objective of my Organizational Studies pathway is to investigate the relationship between the fashion industry and the journalism field, two crafts that are constantly evolving. I plan to draw parallels between the two through my studies by investigating the role that social media has in these two industries. By obtaining a deeper understanding of how many organizations work jointly with the increased reliance on technology, I will be able to prepare for a future in two fields that are persistently developing. Through the OS program, coupled with a minor in English and the Cappo Sales Track, I plan to develop a robust foundation to analyze consumer behavior in order to help media and fashion organizations grow.
