Implementing Positive Community Change Through Effective Nonprofit Practice
Through my time in Organizational Studies, I aim to learn how to increase the overall good that a nonprofit organization can impact on its community. I not only want to learn fundraising techniques, financial management, and positive environmental stewardship, but I want to ask questions about the people associated with the organization, too. How can nonprofits build trusting relationships with their communities? How can leaders effectively manage volunteers and employees to avoid burnout? How can nonprofits overcome cultural barriers in order to expand their reach? How can nonprofits know what their clients truly need and how to provide it? I want to answer these questions by studying what makes a successful nonprofit tick and what mistakes ultimately lead to failure.
