Cultivating Social Change Through Multi-faceted Approaches and Positive People Practices
The overarching goal of my OS pathway is to gain a holistic view of how organizations interact by understanding social issues and organizations at a micro level, and how organizations interact with each other on a larger scale. With this dichotomous curriculum, I hope to understand how different organizations impact change and learn to map the landscapes within these organizations and bridge the gaps between them to foster large scale impact. This way, multi-organizational approaches involving law, non-profits, and corporations can thrive and ensure initiatives and policy that accomplish their intended goals. In addition to how organizations themselves interact to create change, I am interested in the role of people within organizations and how organizations can use positive people practices that promote empathy and communication to create a supportive and productive work environment.
People are at the core of our world, and it is imperative to maintain humanistic approaches in our organizations that value individual differences, collaboration, and creativity on teams, in order to maximize impact. With a focus on interactions between organizations and the people within them, I look forward to gaining multiple lenses to approach strategic change and social impact.
