Maximizing Positive Healthcare Outcomes Through Collaborative Unbiased Leadership
Due to the rise of wrongdoing and emphasis on capitalism in our society, various types of organizations have placed a higher value on profit than consumer experience. This is most obvious in American healthcare, where patient outcomes have significantly decreased in recent years. The disconnect between key players of healthcare organizations like insurance companies, hospital administrators and physicians turns the focus away from patients thus leading to these poor outcomes. Poor leadership paired with implicit and explicit bias has led to the recent decline of American healthcare. I am looking to study and explore different strategies that promote proper leadership and encourage collaboration between all the stakeholders of healthcare. As a pre-medical student, I am able to use my scientific knowledge paired with my degree in Organizational Studies to better understand how bias and leadership control this system.
I believe that by bringing recognition to this issue we can better understand it and propose feasible solutions. By providing the future of healthcare with education that encourages collaboration, equality and success we can maintain positive outcomes in healthcare.
