Positive Connections in Inclusive Sales
In many fast-paced, stressful work environments, it can be difficult for people to dedicate time for building relationships with people. Many of us fall into the trap of not initiating conversations to bond with others, hindering us from truly creating an inclusive and psychologically safe space for everyone to thrive. Ultimately, these high-quality connections we build with others activate us to achieve a meaningful and fulfilling life. Simply, our relationships are one of the few things we control that stay with us for our entire life. To create a positive impact on customers interactions in sales, we must be able to leverage these high-quality connections. Although customer interactions may sometimes feel short-lived, we are still obligated to create a sense of positive regard and mutuality: to feel compassion for other people's pains and be genuinely invested in resolving them. For, being able to listen, understand, and value others’ needs and pains allow us to invest in finding the best solution possible to ensure that we can share our success stories. Through understanding customers' perspectives and finding a mutual solution, we can find compassion in helping other people reach their goals.
