About
What do you appreciate most about the Hub and why?
I appreciate the Hub's accessibility and willingness to assist and teach all students some tools they will need to succeed professionally.
What did you want to be when you were a first-year in high school, and how have your goals changed shape since you came to U-M?
When I was a first-year in high school I was always taught that I had to be a doctor, lawyer, or engineer: other career fields were never discussed as a possibility. After exploring topics in sociology, I realized that I would be much better suited for a career centered around social work at an institution focused on higher education. I would like to pursue a career geared towards remedying educational and opportunal inequalities for marginalized groups.
What is it about an LSA education that you've found the most exciting or valuable?
I’ve found the diversity of classes available to me in the college the most exciting. There are always new topics to explore, even within the same discipline.
What advice do you have for students for them to get the most out of their time in LSA and at U-M?
Stay focused and don’t procrastinate. Remind yourself of your goals and what you want to achieve so you can stay on track and ahead in your classes. A little distraction is okay, but make completing your work first a priority.
