What's Happening @ the Hub?

Spring is in the air… as are midterms, the final call for grad school applications, and the time when most students hear back about internship applications.

Below, find a bounty of wellness-themed events and resources that can help you maintain a healthy spring and turn uncertainties into positive learning experiences.

Come and hear from a roundtable of employer reps hailing from various industries and see just how many career possibilities are out there for LSA degree holders. Come and ask your burning questions from professionals with careers you’re curious about or are seeking after. Tap into the power of their hard-earned wisdom and experience.

These are real people from real employers with real experiences to share. Our guests for this event include:

  • Jennie Wang – JPMorgan Chase
  • Ammerah Saidi – Detroit Future Schools (now People in Education)
  • Rochelle Jackson – Breitling
  • Willie Tuggle – AAA Life Insurance

Expectation: No résumé exchanges or fussy suits — these come-as-you-are sessions invite students to explore and understand, rather than compete.

Anthony Castelucci, an LSA Computer Science major, shares his incredible journey of growth and hard-earned success from a small-town student navigating imposter syndrome and academic uncertainties to a confident and experienced senior at the cusp of launching into a promising career.

“Having The Opportunity Hub’s support, mainly in the form of the internship scholarship as well as the reflection course, really just set me up for success. I was able to be super communicative with my manager and my surrounding team. It really helped me, so much that I ended up getting a full-time job offer for almost a year out.”

As you prepare for the end of another school year, we are here to support your pursuit of what’s next, whether you are a returning student or a soon-to-be grad about to launch into life after college.

Between now and the end of the semester, there’s still time to make the most of these coaching services:

  • Hub Coaching Appointments: 45-minute sessions on any career-related topic with a Hub coach, available in-person, on Zoom, or by phone.
  • Peer Coaching Appointments: Résumé and/or cover letter support via a 45-minute session with one of our peer coaches, available in-person or on Zoom.
