Finance Leaders to Return to Campus for Industry Insiders Jan. 29
If you’re thinking about a career in finance, you have some early things to check off your to-do list: one, talk to people in the field about what it’s really like; two, make connections with LSA alums in positions at top companies like Goldman Sachs; and three, start networking. Check all three off your list during the Hub’s Industry Insiders, happening Monday, Jan. 29 in Weiser Hall. It’ll be a fun cram session with LSA grads who've become leaders in finance and want to give you tips on how to climb the ladder, too. Limited to 100 students; stay tuned for more details via email. |

Public Ambitions
Desi Price | Undeclared | Second Year
Desi Price has many ambitions, but the thing that holds them together is her desire to take for-profit skills and apply them in the non-profit world. As one of the ten LSA undergrads chosen for the Opportunity Hub’s recent flash internship experience at William Blair in Chicago, Price thought about what it would mean to change the way public funds are managed. “The summer before I started high school, I worked at a public housing authority in Nevada. Facilities were old and worn down,” Price said. “Because it's public housing I expected better—I expected the government to allocate the funds in a way that would make those communities thrive.” She's decided to take an active role in improving the social and financial inequalities of disadvantaged communities. “I'm still trying to figure things out, but that moment was when I realized I can do something about this. Now I’m working towards potentially going to law school and considering entering the public sector to improve these things."
