Employer Connections: Exploring Careers in Political Advocacy in a Virtual Age

Tuesday, August 25, 2020
4:00-5:15 PM
Off Campus Location
The Public Interest Research Group in Michigan (PIRGIM) is a non-profit that serves to address the social, economical, and political needs of the public. Whether its threats to consumers, the environment, health & safety, or even the financial security of ordinary citizens, PIRGIM uses grassroots organizing, advocacy and litigation, investigative research, and media exposés to drive change.

Join the PIRGIM team on Tuesday, August 25 from 4:00-5:15pm, as they walk through the day in the life of a political advocacy organization. They’ll also address potential solutions to the unprecedented challenges voters face with the Fall’s upcoming federal virtual election.

You should attend this Employer Connection if you are:

- Actively pursuing an internship (as early as Fall 2020) or full time role in advocacy work
- Eager to explore careers in civic engagement, environmental sustainability, consumer protection, and more

What you’ll gain by attending:

- Connect with an organization that is actively recruiting student interns for the Fall 2020 semester
- Find out how advocacy work has adapted and will continue to evolve in today’s virtual reality
- Gain a better understanding of the career possibilities within political advocacy work
