The All Disciplines Award can be applied to any master's or doctoral degree at any recognised UK university, as well as for independent research projects. We also offer dozens of Awards partnered with universities across the UK, some of whom are looking for Fulbrighters interested in graduate study in specific disciplines.

Stipends vary from year to year. They are typically enough to comfortably cover the cost of living in the UK as a student.

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a US citizen.  Dual US-UK citizens are eligible to apply.
  • Not currently reside in the UK
  • Hold or expect to attain a bachelor's degree or equivalent professional training/experience in a relevant field before departure to the UK

The US-UK Fulbright programme aims to foster cultural understanding between our two countries. Preference is therefore given to applicants who do not have extensive experience (six months or longer) in the UK.  Applicants with extensive UK experience should explain in detail how further experience in the UK will fulfil the Fulbright mission in ways that their prior visits did not.

Like all fully-funded Oxford scholarships, they cover all tuition and college fees, and offer a generous grant for living costs; however Clarendon’s additional appeal lies in its unique community of scholars.  Each year there are around 400 Clarendon scholars at Oxford representing around 70 different countries.

Whilst there are no quotas by course type, the majority of Clarendon scholars are working towards a DPhil (Oxford's name for a PhD). Scholarships are also awarded for two-year graduate degrees (such as the MPhil or BPhil) or one-year degrees (such as the MSc, MSt, MBA or MFE).The University has one goal in mind when selecting Clarendon scholars: to choose the best students worldwide, as decided by experts in each student's field.
