Yiran Liu has been selected by Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program to join their pioneer cohort of scholars this year!  The Knight-Hennessy Scholars Program at Stanford aims to prepare a new generation of global leaders with a deep academic foundation and the skills to develop creative solutions and effect positive change in the world.  As a Knight-Hennessy Scholar, Yiran will receive full funding for up to three years of graduate education at Stanford and participate in a variety of supplementary programs to develop her future leadership skills.​ Yiran plans to pursue a PhD in cancer biology at Stanford School of Medicine.  

Previously, Yiran has done research at the UM Comprehensive Cancer Center, Mayo Clinic, Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research, and Columbia University Medical Center. While a student at U-M, Yiran won the Astronaut Scholarship as a leading future STEM reesarcher, led the peer education program at the Sexual Assault Prevention and Awareness Center and served on various advisory boards to Student Life.  Her work has been published in Immunity and The FASEB Journal.  Yiran was also one of four Rhodes finalists from the U-M this year!
