Thai-Huy Nguyen is an assistant professor of education at Seattle University and a senior research associate for the Penn Center for Minority Serving Institutions. In 2017, Thai-Huy was selected as an Emerging Scholar by Diverse Issues in Higher Education. He received his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania.
Current Work:
Thai-Huy is currently conducting a longitudinal ethnography of STEM degree pathways through community colleges. Funded by the National Science Foundation, the study's purpose is to observe and examine how class inequalities shape a student's pathway to a four-year degree program. Special emphasis is placed on students beginning higher education in remedial math.
