Assistant Professor of Education at Brandman University
About
I was born a teacher. To hear my mom tell it, I had an affinity for chalk, paste, and telling people what to do at a very early age. After graduating from my undergraduate studies, I embarked on a high school teaching career. I loved working with students, and I loved observing how learning occurred for different students in different ways. I became quite good at developing engaging and rigorous learning opportunities, by connecting with students at a deeper level, and differentiating learning for them. At my schools, I became a "teacher of teachers", and I loved sharing my experiences with others, as well as learning from their experiences and expertise. After taking my doctorate, I transitioned to teaching at the university, focusing in on preparing future teachers for the challenges of the 21st century classroom.
