Dr. Shailen Singh currently serves as an assistant professor in the Department of Occupational, Workforce, & Leadership Studies at Texas State with a research focus on disability and diversity. He also serves as an adjunct faculty member at Texas A&M-College Station for the Department of Educational Human Resource Development.
Dr. Singh holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Texas A&M University, a master degree in higher education from the University of Arkansas, and completed his PhD.
Current Work:
Dr. Singh scholarship focuses on disability as a component of identity and diversity instead of simply something that needs to be "accommodated". He believe disability is a defining characteristic for individuals and families of individuals with disabilities--one that significantly impacts decision making and paradigms--but not THE defining characteristic.
