About
Dr. Nosisi Feza is a senior research specialist at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) in South Africa. Before joining HSRC, she was a research fellow at the University of Northern Iowa for early childhood mathematics and a research assistant at the State University of New York at Buffalo on early childhood mathematics research. Prior to her PhD studies, she was a mathematics lecturer at the University of Port Elizabeth. Her qualitative research expertise is employed on investigating students' of African descendent mathematical thinking processes, mathematics teacher education, differentiated mathematics instruction, and young children’s innate mathematical abilities and their development using qualitative inquiry.
Current Work:
Dr. Feza's current research involves big-scale quantitative studies such as "Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study, Mathematics for the 21st Century". She continues investigating use of cultural pedagogy in teaching mathematics and also early childhood education.
