Laura Marks is an assistant professor of counseling psychology at Florida State University. She is originally from Jamaica. She completed her bachelor's degree in psychology and master's degree in school and mental health counseling at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. She received her doctoral degree from the APA-accredited counseling psychology program at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She completed her predoctoral internship at the APA-accredited counseling center at Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. Her research focuses on microaggressions in marginalized groups and career development issues in disadvantaged populations.
Current Work:
Dr. Marks' current research projects are focused on understanding microaggressions in different marginalized groups and how they influence mental health and health behaviors.
