About
Dr. Gant's research focuses on program evaluation of small and moderate-size human service and social action organizations in urban communities; the creation, implementation, and evaluation of community-based health promotion initiatives in the areas of early childhood development, substance abuse prevention, sexually transmitted diseases, and HIV/AIDS; the implementation and evaluation of community information technology centers.
Current Work:
Dr. Gant's work identifies, describes and explains different models of community development used in urban working-class neighborhoods. These models can help people create and live in neighborhoods where residents make (fabricate) their own materials for food, shelter, clothing and energy. These neighborhoods lead to neighborhoods that are models of social justice equity, smart green technologies, and mutually beneficial relationships.
