Dr. Jasmine McNealy is an associate professor at the University of Florida, a fellow at the Stanford University Digital Civil Society Lab, and a faculty associate at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society. Dr. McNealy earned a PhD in mass communication with an emphasis in media law and a JD at the University of Florida. Dr. McNealy completed a BS in both journalism and Afro-American studies at the University of Wisconsin.
Current Work:
Both an attorney and social scientist, Dr. McNealy studies media, information, and emerging technology, with a view toward influencing law and policy. Dr. McNealy's current research focuses on privacy, surveillance and data governance issues surrounding emerging and civic technology, with an emphasis on marginalized communities.
