Flóra Faragó is an associate professor of human development and family studies at Stephen F. Austin State University with a background in developmental psychology. Her teaching and research interests center around gender and ethnic-racial socialization in children, prejudice and stereotype development, and anti-bias education. Dr. Faragó is particularly interested in the link between research and community activism. She collaborates with organizations including the Girl Child Network in Kenya.
Current Work:
Dr. Faragó researches how adults navigate conversations around race and gender with children. Dr. Faragó has completed projects on ethnic-racial and gender socialization in early care settings, on Ugandan children's gender-role attitudes and gender stereotypes, and on anti-bias curricular pedagogies in early care settings. Dr. Faragó uses mixed-methods and is committed to taking research beyond the walls of academia via scholar-activism and community-participatory research approaches.
