Postdoctoral Fellow at University of Toronto
About
Ella Daniel studies the development of values and morality within a multifaceted social environment: parenting, education, and culture. She graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (2012), studying the development of value contextualization among majority and immigrant youth. As a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Toronto, she studies parenting practices and moral emotions and cognitions as antecedents of value development across cultures. Currently, she is studying the effects of the social environment on morality and prosociality among young children, as a postdoctoral fellow with professor Jennifer Jenkins at the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto.
Current Work:
Dr. Daniel studies the role of the family system in the development of prosocial and antisocial behaviors among young children. In longitudinal studies, she examines the role of parenting practices, as well as prosocial and antisocial behaviors of sibling, in the development of children's moral behaviors across time.
