About
Cynthia Wang is the executive director of the Dispute Resolution and Research Center (DRRC) and a clinical professor of management and organizations at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. She holds a BA in psychology from Yale University and an MS and PhD in management and organizations from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Her research interests fall in the area of cultural and social diversity, ethical decision-making, and negotiations.
Current Work:
Dr. Wang's research centers around two overarching areas:
- positive vs. negative perspectives on ethical decision-making and
- how individuals respond to the presence of social diversity.
She is particularly interested in studying psychological processes that underlie intra-group and inter-group interactions within these domains. Some of her work investigates how we punish bad behavior and reward good behavior and how exposure to socially similar and dissimilar others influences emotions, judgments, and behaviors. Her work's foundations use theories from social psychology, economics, organizational behavior, and sociology. Dr. Wang believes that her work is useful as ethical standards and diversity continue to be central concerns within organizations.
