C. Aujean Lee is an assistant professor of regional and city planning. She earned her PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in the Department of Urban Planning and her master's in urban planning from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research focuses on residential segregation and racial disparities in homeownership, wealth, and community institutions. She also examines nonprofits in providing social protections to vulnerable communities in uncertain policy/political circumstances.

C. Aujean Lee's research focuses on segregation and racial disparities in homeownership, community institutions, and wealth. Her work connects multiple disciplines — urban planning, sociology, ethnic studies, and geography — to understand how race, class, and neighborhoods perpetuate or alleviate these gaps. Much of her work focuses on clarifying when and where immigrant and racial/ethnic concentration affect socioeconomic mobility, including regional effects and times of significant change.
