Berkeley Franz is a medical sociologist and assistant professor of community-based health at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Athens, Ohio. She holds a Heritage Endowed Career Development fellowship in Population Health Science and adjunct appointments in the Departments of Classics and World Religions and Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Ohio University.
Current Work:
Dr. Franz's research and teaching focus on health disparities, bias and discrimination in health care, community-based engagement, and narrative medicine. She also has interests in the intersection of religious beliefs, racial attitudes, and health policy preferences.
