Assistant Professor in the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies at the University of Kansas
About
Dr. Amanda L. Mollet (she/her/hers) is an assistant professor of educational leadership and policy studies in the Higher Education administration program at the University of Kansas. Her research explores questions of equity and inclusion in Higher Education from individual, organizational, and ecological perspectives. She primarily focuses on the experiences of students, faculty, and staff with historically minoritized sexual and gender identities. A thread of that work specifics focuses on asexual college students' experiences, development, and outcomes of college.
Current Work:
Dr. Mollet's research focuses on LGBTQ+ people in Higher Education. She looks at the experiences of students, faculty, and staff across colleges and universities to identify opportunities for making Higher Education more equitable, affirming, and positive for LGBTQ+ people. Dr. Mollet views her work as supporting liberation for all students by challenging societal norms that constrain or limit people from feeling comfortable existing authentically in Higher Education. Her upcoming projects focus on learning about the distinctive and unique ways that LGBTQ+ develop healthy intimate relationships, examining how LGBTQ+ student veterans find spaces on campuses, and understanding how asexual students' experiences with sexual violence can reframe stereotypical ideas about the epidemic of collegiate sexual violence.
