About
Megan has a PhD in higher education from Loyola University Chicago, an MSW from the University of Georgia, and a BA in sociology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She is a passionate researcher and writer with specific expertise in race and equity in higher education and affirmative action policy. Her dissertation explored Asian American identity development and engagement in racial justice work.
Prior to joining NCID, Megan worked as a teaching and learning consultant at an educational technology company. Her passion for social justice and equity brought her back to higher education to support the work of critical scholars in their research and practice. She has also served as an instructor, editor in chief of The Journal of Critical Scholarship on Higher Education and Student Affairs, as well as a student affairs practitioner in multicultural affairs.

Qualitative or quantitative?
I'm a qualitative researcher but have great appreciation for quantitative inquiry and being challenged to think about research and methodology in different ways.
Where can we find you on a Saturday afternoon?
If it's warm, hanging out with friends and trying new restaurants. If it's cold, probably playing video games and hanging out with my cats!

Michigan is the 5th state I have lived in in the last 10 years.
