Date: April 14th-15th, 2015

Overview

This summit was hosted by the National Forum on Higher Education for the Public Good (National Forum) and the National Center for Institutional Diversity (NCID) at the University of Michigan. Over the course of a few days, institutional leaders, educators, and immigrant rights advocates met together to assess ways to promote institutional policies and practices in support of undocumented, DACAmented, and immigrant students. Through this gathering and the ongoing work occurring at each of our campuses and organizations, we hoped to:

  • Broaden public support, influence policy and practice and increase philanthropic commitment to ensure opportunities for postsecondary education for undocumented, DACAmented and immigrant students;
  • Identify institutional barriers encountered by undocumented, DACAmented and immigrant students;
  • Examine efforts to create inclusive, dignified and responsive campus climates for undocumented, DACAmented and immigrant students.
