The Michigan Research and Discovery Scholars (MRADS) is the residential affiliate of the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Program (UROP).

MRADS students participate in UROP research projects. In addition, MRADS students live together, enroll in ALA104: "Introduction to Research", attend MRADS specific Research Seminars and meet with in-house MRADS Peer Advisors.

At the end of the winter term, MRADS has a Spring Research Symposium that is separate from UROP. Faculty sponsors submit progress reports and grades for MRADS students in the same way as they do UROP students, but send them directly to MRADS. MRC students complete research contracts and time sheets similar to those of UROP students, however, they turn those forms in directly to the MRADS office.

For questions or feedback about MRADS or students in MRADS, faculty should contact Laura J. Olsen, Director for MRADS at
