Learning Modern Greek via Videoconferencing: A Project between the UM Modern Greek Program and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (PDF)

Despina Margomenou

The Modern Greek Program participated in  "Engaging the World From Your Classroom" an event highlighting faculty who are working on projects or courses that promote global engagement. The event was sponsored by James Holloway, Vice Provost for Global and Engaged Education and organized by CRLT, coordinators of the Internationalizing the Curriculum grant, and LS&A ISS and LS&A LRC, coordinators of the Global Teaching with Videoconferencing grant (Oct 2, 2014). "Conversations on Culture" is a module of Intermediate Modern Greek (Modern Greek 201 and 202) at the University of Michigan. It is a collaboration between the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Center for Foreign Language Teaching (Dr. Anna-Maria Hatzitheodorou) and the University of Michigan Modern Greek Program (Dr. Despina Margomenou). Students from both institutions "meet"  =via videoconferencing to explore cultural phenomena through intercultural comparisons.
