Research

My research is devoted to understand the nature, variability and activity of the solar corona, and its effects on the Heliosphere and on Earth. Since this topic is broad, my research spans across several different fields, and focuses on:

1. Building diagnostic tools (atomic physics);
2. Inventing new analysis techniques (high- and low-resolution spectroscopy, in-situ charge state composition); and
3. Applying my tools and methods to understand the Sun, its variability, and its activity
   1. coronal heating;
   2. solar flares;
   3. coronal mass ejections;
   4. solar irradiance;
   5. solar wind;
   6. solar chemical composition and so on
