Current research interests:

My current research interests are focused on Armenian literature, culture, history, language, the Armenian Church, printing, and translations in the past millennium in Cilicia and in Ottoman, Safavi, Russian and Soviet contexts.

Current projects:

A number of translations: Grigor Daranaghtsi’s Chronicle (17^th century); Eremia Komurjian’s Annals (17^th century) and his adaptation in Ottoman Turkish of Movses Khorenatsi’s History.  A history of the Armenian Patriarchate of Constantinople.  A social, cultural and political history of the Western Armenians (11^th-20^th centuries). Two surveys: Armenian apocalyptic literature in the late medieval and early modern era; and 17^th – 18^th century Armenian literature.  Three articles on various aspects of Armenian identity, and political and social history.
