Michigan Community Scholars Program

I am a Master of Social Work student along the Welfare of Children and Families Pathway at UM's School of Social Work. I graduated in April 2022 from UM, where I majored in Sociology and minored in Community Action & Social Change. I have been involved in MCSP since my freshman year of undergrad and am excited to be on the professional staff this year. Being a part of MCSP for all these years has strengthened my passion for social justice and community engagement. I am grateful for the opportunities that MCSP has offered me over the years, including being a facilitator for UM's Program on Intergroup Relations and the co-president of WolveReaders. I was born in Kalamazoo, MI, grew up in the Washington, D.C. area, and have been in Ann Arbor for the last few years. Outside of MCSP, I am heavily involved in Best Buddies, an organization dedicated to promoting the inclusion of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I was president of UM's chapter and am now serving as their faculty advisor and doing work at the state level on their advisory board. In my free time, I love baking, traveling, golfing, and listening to the Jonas Brothers.
