MCSP in the Peace Corps

MCSP students are dedicated to service before, during, and after their time in the program. During his three years in MCSP, GS Suri served as a peer mentor and was actively engaged with service events. Following graduation, GS wanted to make a great impact in the world and joined the Peace Corps. After spending two years in Morocco, GS recently returned home and paid MCSP directors David Schoem and Wendy Woods a visit to share his experiences. MCSP has a long history of sending students to these impactful programs, helping make a difference in communities and the world. Congratulations GS!

Alleviating Hunger

MCSP has had a long partnership with Food Gatherers, a food rescue program in Ann Arbor that distributes its collections to food banks and hot meal programs across Washtenaw County. Students from MCSP have volunteered countless hours to sort through the collections at the Food Gatherers' facility and prepare it for distribution to help alleviate hunger in the community. Take a look at the students in action below as they sort through produce in the warehouse!

Increasing Access to Healthy Food

Growing Hope is an urban farm based in Ypsilanti that aims to increase access to healthy food in the community through education programs, empowerment initiatives, and gardening efforts. MCSP is proud to be an annual partner of this organization that helps out many people in the greater Ann Arbor and Metro Detroit areas. Our students enjoy volunteering at their urban farm to help alleviate the "food desert" effect found in our community. Check out the students below as they put on their gardening gloves to help grow healthy food!

Alumni Updates

Check out these recent stories from MCSP alums! Wherever an MCSPer goes, they bring their spirit of community service, social justice, and diversity with them. We are so proud to see all their accomplishments!
