MOVE-IN INFORMATION - FALL 2019
Summer is coming to a close, but an amazing year awaits you here at Michigan and MCSP. All MCSP students will be moving into our community at West Quad within approximately the same time frame. To help you have a smooth and successful move-in, here are some important links and pieces of information.
West Quad is in the heart of Central Campus. Expect traffic delays and limited parking.
Move-in is a busy time of the year in Ann Arbor. As thousands of students arrive on campus, there may be traffic delays entering the city and arriving at West Quad. Refer to this map issued by U-M Housing to facilitate your travel to West Quad for move-in. General parking on Thompson and other surrounding streets will be prohibited during move-in hours, and you must have an unloading permit for to park around West Quad to unload belongings.
Refer to this page on the Housing site for more general move-in information.
Check In, Unload, Move In
When you arrive at West Quad, enter through the main entrance on Thompson street and check-in in the lobby to receive your room key and other important documents. You may head up to your room once you have your key. Blue bins can be borrowed to transfer your belongings from your vehicle to your room. All MCSP rooms are located on the 2nd floor of West Quad. Note that if you are living in Allen House, there is no elevator access and you will need to carry your belongings up by stairs. Move-in makers, who are students assisting with the move-in process, are available around the residence hall to help you carry and move things to your room.
Get Ready for MCSP Action
MCSP programming begins right away as soon as you move-in. Come visit the MCSP office and Community Center to meet fellow MCSPers, staff, and student leaders. You will receive a list of MCSP Welcome Week events happening over the next few weeks. We are so excited to have you in MCSP, and await your arrival into our community! Go Blue!
Reminders - Fall 2019
Be sure to register for MCSP Courses.
In order to fulfill your program requirements, all MCSP students must satisfy the course requirements. In the Fall semester, you will need to take ALA 102, both the lecture and discussion sections. You can complete either the Civic Engagement or Seminar requirement in the fall, and then complete the other in the winter. Check out the MCSP Course Guide for a list of eligible courses. Your Academic Advisor and the MCSP staff can help you select courses for your fall schedule.
