David Schoem, director of MCSP, has received state-wide recognition for his contributions to service-learning over the past year.  He is receiving the 2012 Michigan Campus Compact Faculty/Staff Community Service-Learning Award.  This is a significant award that the Michigan Campus Compact (MCC) bestows on faculty/staff at MCC campuses.  Nominated by U-M Provost Philip Hanlon, Schoem was designated by U-M President Mary Sue Coleman and peers as the person on the U-M campus who made the most outstanding contributions in the area of community service-learning during the past two years.  Schoem is being recognized for those contributions and the positive impact they have had on his students.

The Michigan Campus Compact is a coalition of college and university presidents who are committed to fulfilling the public purposes of higher education.  Campus Compact member presidents are joined together in their commitment to the development of personal and social responsibility as integral to the educational mission of their campuses.

Congratulations, David!
