A recent Thomson Reuters publication “The World’s Most Influential Minds” that describes the top 1% of most cited researchers in different areas of scientific research includes MCDB Professor Dan Klionsky among the 27 faculty at the University of Michigan on the list. Klionsky is 1 of about 200 faculty listed in the sections Biology and Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Genetics. 

The University of Michigan ranks No. 11 in the new list of the world's most-cited researchers. More than 3,200 researchers worldwide were included in the list, which ranks an individual’s impact based on a survey of Highly Cited Papers (defined as being in the top 1 percent by citations in the Web of Science database) between 2002-2012.
