Representation Theory of Curried Algebras and Non-primality of Certain Symmetric Ideals

This thesis consists of two separate parts. First, we analyze curried (general linear/symplectic etc) Lie algebras associated with certain nonrigid categories. In particular, we give a connection between delta-standard representations of curried algebras of the standard OB-module and representations of ordered Brauer category. We also present some classical (and new) results on representations of Rook monoids that we needed to show the equivalence. The Second part of the thesis is about symmetric ideals. We give a direct proof (with an example) of non-primality of certain even-degreehomogeneous symmetric ideals, first proved by Nagpal-Snowden. We will also present some open problems regarding symmetric ideals.
