Complex Analysis, Dynamics and Geometry Seminar

Complex polynomial vector fields and the cubic bifurcation locus
Monday, November 29, 2021
4:00-5:00 PM
3096 East Hall Map
When a polynomial P(z) is close to the identity near z=0, the orbits of points under iteration of P closely follow trajectories in the vector field dz/dt = P(z)- z. In this talk, we will examine the structure and classification of these polynomial vector fields. We will pay special attention to the cubic case, where we will study the vector fields which are not conjugate to their perturbations.
This talk will be given in person. Speaker(s): Alex Kapiamba (U(M))
