Applied Interdisciplinary Mathematics (AIM) Seminar

Deblurring and denoising images and acoustical signals with optimization and statistics
Friday, October 22, 2021
3:00-4:00 PM
ZOOM East Hall Map
Images and acoustical signals are acquired in a variety of ways for medical purposes, research, security, pleasure, etc. Unfortunately, the instrumentation and the environment cause blur and noise to the received signals. Our goal is to take these distorted signals and retrieve the original signal. In this talk, we will see one method for the removal of blur and noise that can be used in both the digital images or acoustical signals. Speaker(s): Viktoria Taroudaki (Eastern Washington University)
