We will review the theory of minimal models of surface foliations, as well as some aspects of the Kodaira-Enriques type classification of surface foliations. We will explain how using these results we can provide answers to some concrete problems in the study of algebraicity properties of surface foliations.
We will then discuss some recent progress on constructing minimal models in higher dimensions. Features joint works with P. Cascini and R. Svaldi. Speaker(s): Calum Spicer (King's College London)
