The Cohomology of Local Shimura Varieties via Global Methods
Monday, November 9, 2020
3:00-4:00 PM
Off Campus Location
I will be talking about work in progress with Kieu Hieu Nguyen. We use global methods, in particular the theory of the cohomology of global Shimura varieties, to derive formulas satisfied by the cohomology of local Shimura varieties for unramified unitary similitude groups. I will then explain how these formulas can be used to prove new cases of a conjecture of Kottwitz. Speaker(s): Alexander Bertoloni Meli (UM)
