Arthur has developed the trace formula for reductive connected group (over a number fields) more than twenty five years ago. For this talk, I will introduce some representation theory notions and discuss some connection to number theory. Then I will give the statement of trace formula and hopefully do some nontrivial examples if time allows. Speaker(s): Yiwang Chen (UM)
