Complex Analysis, Dynamics and Geometry Seminar

On the behavior of height functions along the orbits of self-rational maps of algebraic varieties
Monday, September 10, 2018
4:00-5:00 PM
3088 East Hall Map
I will talk about some interesting behavior of Weil height function on the orbits of rational self-maps of algebraic varieties defined over a number field. After reviewing some easy examples and the definition of dynamical degree, I will discuss existence/properties of canonical heights in some special situations.
