Higher Bruhat orders, introduced by Manin and Schechtman, are finite posets generalizing the symmetric group under the weak Bruhat order. In this talk, we study the structure of the higher Bruhat orders. We then interpret these posets in the context of oriented matroid extensions and cubical tilings of zonotopes. No background on oriented matroids or zonotopes is expected. Speaker(s): Alexander Leaf (University of Michigan)
