About
Cat Cassel is a lecturer in the Sweetland Center for Writing. She attended University of Iowa for her undergraduate (English & Women’s Studies), and University of Michigan for her graduate degree (English & Women’s Studies). She wrote her dissertation on post-atomic bug metaphors in American fiction and film, so if you want to talk bugs, she’ll be up for it! Cat has taught a range of writing and literature courses at UM on subjects like environmental dystopias, animal representation, feeling robots, material culture, and infographics. In her life outside the classroom, she enjoys traveling to see art and architecture, watching awesomely bad TV and movies, dabbling in novice crafting, and playing D&D.
