Kayla Rothstein is honored to serve as an Elected Representative on the LSA Student Government. She is passionate about creating legislation that identifies solutions and amplifies the voice of the Michigan community, and she serves as Vice Chair of the Internal Review Committee and Diversity Affairs Committee. As a first year, Kayla is also a Detroit R&B Mentor, Best Buddies group leader, and Optimize project leader. She is from the Washington D.C. area, where she served as a repeat intern for Congresswoman Jackson Lee and Student Represenative on the Fairfax County Commission for Women, writing policy and speaking at events for young women empowerment. She was also the former student director of her high school's choir department, choreographer, and performer for theatre productions. Kayla passionately served special needs communities as President of Buddies Club, and founder of a store on wheels to teach special education students job skills and create an inclusive school community. Kayla looks forward to serving the University of Michigan LSA community.
