ACADEMIC ADVISING
Advisors help students develop their academic and professional goals, make informed decisions, and act with increasing independence. Students will have access to full-time, peer, and departmental advisors.
COMPREHENSIVE STUDIES PROGRAM (CSP)
The Comprehensive Studies Program (CSP) is a premier student success program invested in the mission to continuously engage, shape, provide academic guidance for, and retain undergraduate students from diverse populations with outstanding potential for success at the University of Michigan. CSP coordinates and provides instruction, holistic advising, counseling, student development opportunities, and a supportive learning community to equip our students with the academic, personal, and social tools that lead to academic achievement, retention and graduation.
LSA OPPORTUNITY HUB
The LSA Opportunity Hub is an initiative dedicated to pairing the broad and valuable skills of a liberal arts education with real-life experience, strategic advising, and the benefit of connecting with employers and alumni.
TRANSFER STUDENT CENTER
The Transfer Student Center offers a dedicated space, dedicated staff, and dedicated services just for transfer students. Get familiar with the resources and people who can help you feel even more at home at LSA.
LSA SCHOLARSHIPS
For LSA undergraduate students with financial need, the LSA Scholarship Office strives to provide funding for an array of learning opportunities—everything from studying abroad to completing an internship to making education a financial reality.
SCIENCE LEARNING CENTER
This resource center supports teaching and learning in the natural sciences at the University of Michigan. The natural science disciplines at U-M include astronomy, biology, biophysics, chemistry, earth and environmental sciences, and physics.
SWEETLAND WRITING CENTER
This center provides one-on-one writing instruction and free programs that help students understand assignments, develop ideas, and revise at the paragraph and sentence level. Outreach includes tutoring, workshops, courses, and more.
TESTING ACCOMMODATION CENTER
Reasonable testing accommodations are provided to students with verified disabilities who are enrolled in LSA courses. The center’s aim is to make education accessible for students with verified disabilities.
LANGUAGE RESOURCE CENTER
This unit within LSA supports faculty, staff, and students involved in the study of languages, literatures, and cultures at the University of Michigan.
INTERGROUP RELATIONS
This social justice education program prepares students to live and work in a diverse world and educates them in making choices that advance equity, justice, and peace.
MATH LAB
This walk-in tutoring service is available free to all U-M students. Located in B860 East Hall, the Math Lab provides free tutoring for mathematics courses numbered through 217.
PHYSICS TUTORING
Several resources are available for students taking undergraduate physics courses including a Physics Help Room with walk-in hours, one-on-one tutoring, and problem-solving sessions.
SERVICES FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
This office provides robust support services and academic accommodations to students with disabilities.
COUNSELING AND PSYCHOLOGICAL SERVICES (CAPS)
CAPS works to ensure that a diverse student body has access to care, receives high quality services, and takes positive pathways to mental health. This office also works to nurture and develop student engagement on campus.
ACADEMIC SUCCESS PROGRAM (ATHLETICS)
More than 700 student athletes have access to a dedicated space on State Street for academic support including individual and group study areas, computer labs, meeting rooms for tutorial work, and more.
